GTA 6 Age Rating: Mature 17+ on Rockstar’s Site — What It Actually Confirms
Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page now displays an ESRB Mature 17+ badge ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch. The useful part is not the number alone: the page also lists the content descriptors and an in-game-purchases notice.
GTA 6’s listed ESRB descriptors
Rockstar currently lists: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol. The page also shows “In-Game Purchases” as an interactive element.
What Mature 17+ means
ESRB’s Mature category is generally intended for ages 17 and older. A rating descriptor is a category of content, not a scene-by-scene inventory, so it should not be used to invent specific missions or gameplay details.
One important caveat
As of October 3, Rockstar’s own page is the clearest primary-facing confirmation we can point readers to. Independent rating-board database publication can lag storefront and publisher-page updates, so this page will be updated if the ESRB publishes a separate searchable GTA VI record or rating summary.
What this does not confirm
The rating does not tell us the exact frequency or context of every listed element. It also does not, by itself, reveal story events. We will keep confirmed rating information separate from rumors and interpretations.
Launch details
GTA VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For the launch date, platforms, preload and other confirmed buyer information, see our GTA 6 release date and platforms guide.
